End of Jeff's Birthday Weekend (June 28th)

The Cake

His cake looks so pathetic!! I could not find my Aunt's cake pans so I grabed two pie tins thinking it would work and I could make them fit together! AS you can see it did not work out this way. The cake tasted great, but looked horrible and the icing was not functioning either. Needless to say we all laughed a lot over that carrot cake. Jeff and I laugh everytime we see this little cake's picture!

My Aunt and Uncle were so sweet, when I was working in Ontario I got to stay with them and I had a great time with them. Jeff came down and we had such a good time there. We started the weekend by Jeff opening a gift for birthday week on Friday. This was gift 5. He got two movies he wanted, Thumblina and The Secret Nymph. I think it was called. Thumblina had us humored because she is constantly showing off her legs. It's an interesting child's show, I will say that. I am amazed at what they try to get away with in Children's movies.

Then on Saturday, Jeff and I finally got around to washing our cars. They sparkled and all of a sudden I was okay with driving my older Ford Escort. When it is dirty I become dissatisfied with it. I remind myself that it is fully paid for when I secretly desire a Pontaic G6 (See my rental car post from Christmas). I eventually get the things I desire if I am patient and so I am working on being really patient on the car front. When my car is clean inside and out, I am normally fine and my patience is increased.

So then we went in the house, showered and got ready and I had Jeff open gift number 7, the purple shirt! He LOVED it and I am so glad because I LOVE this shirt on him! He looks so amazing when he wears it. Especially with the jeans he got that weekend. So anyways, My Aunt took our pictures and we got some fabulous ones that are my favorite. Then we were off on an all day sacvenger hunt that I had planned. We went to the dollar store to get candy for later. Then we went and got our pictures taken at JC Penny. Very few looked good so we were grateful for the ones my Aunt took. Then we went to the Love Sac store and decided on the one we want for when we have a house and children.

Then it was off to sephora for picking out colonge and perfume for each other. Next stop, Pretzel place and it was soooo good! Then we went and had to pick out three outfits for each other to try on and it would fall into different categories. He tried on the best pair of jeans on him ever and ended up buying it and I then I tried on a dress he picked out for me and I LOVE it so much I bought it since I got it 40 percent off!

That was a fun adventure. We tried to find an orament, but after a few salespeople mentioned that in June our likihood of finding one are slim we gave up! By this time we were hungry and so we went to Miguels Jr to split a garbage burrito. He loved it as much as I do and so I know we will be going back there. Then he opened his last clue and he was excited to learn it was a Drive in movie to see Up and Night at the Musuem. We loved it and had a good time.

The only downer was I was really sunburned from washing cars earlier so we went on a hunt for Aloe Vera and finally got some at Wal-Mart and then I felt better. But it took an hour an half to get into see the show and we missed an hour or more of Up. Katie told me that is the best part of the movie so I guess I will have to see the whole thing when it comes out.

The next day we had a small get together for his birthday, when he got his last gift, an electric razor. Which was a double sided gift (so we can kiss without my face being brushed with sandpaper affect when he did not shave!) It has worked wonders! :)

So that is the end to birthday week and I think Jeff had a great time! I sure did planning everything and surprising him!

Memorial Day (May, 2009)

Jeff and I were invited over to Katie and Dale's house on memorial day in May and we had so much fun with them. We played games, ate hamburgers, played Dance Revolution, and just had a great time. This was another day that just made me feel deeper in love with Jeff, watching him with Katilyn was so cute.

She adores Jeff and they were having so much fun playing together it made me feel great. Katie told me later that she was playing with her little people and they were going to see "Jeff and Emme!" That made Jeff and I feel great, especially Jeff because Katilyn takes time to warm up to new people. She also said the cutest thing at the table. She said, "Jeff, are you going to marry Emme?" and he replied, "If she will have me!" Then she turned to me and said, "Emme are you going to marry Jeff?" and I said, "Yes!" Then she responded with, "I need to get married to a nice man like Jeff and like Daddy... and fast!"

She cracked me up, we were laughing over that one. Then Dale said, "No, not soon, how old did we talk about before you are going to get married?" Katilyn responded with, "Thirty!" We had such a great time with them :)

Two stories to illustrate why Jeff is awesome!

The first story, On friday night, Jeff and I were watching movies and the last movie ended around 1:30 am. So needless to say, we were pretty exhausted. So he went home and I had planned on sleeping in all Sat. Morning. My parents called at 8:30 Am and I talked to them for forty-five minutes and then my friend Emily called at 9:15 and we talked for 45 minutes and then I went back to sleep to be awakend by Jeff at my door at 11am. I will admit I was tired and just wanted to sleep more. Jeff came in the door and was like, "go back to bed, I just want to work on a few things!" So I went back upstairs and fell alseep. At 12:30 PM He wakes me up and we start talking and go downstairs and my kitchen was SPOTLESS!!! It looked so beautiful and he even cleaned the big mess that we had created in the kitchen the night before.

I had not looked forward to cleaning it the next day. So I felt really blessed that Jeff did that for me. He is always helping me with cleaning when we make dinner and I really appreciate it. He even cleaned the floor, something we both hate doing! Cause we have talked about the division of household chores for when we get married and we learned what we both dislike which is mopping and sweeping floors!

Second story, happened today. After I got done reading all of your wonderful blogs that were new on my google reader, Jeff wanted me to watch this, Dr. Horrible something or other, 45 minute show. I loved the music on it and hated the fact that the girl dies in it (even though I understand why). So anyway, 15 minutes into the show, we hear this water pouring in the kitchen (it was not a normal sound).
The dishwasher was running and so Jeff jumps up and sprints to the kitchen to discover water is ALL over the floor, in the sink cupboard and ruined some of the things I had under the sink. He jumps into action and I am trying to help, I got some towels, but Jeff did all the hard work. He soaked up the towels and rung them out, he got the huge mess all cleaned up and then was able to fix the problem. The guy who fixed my disposal had not closed the gap and so there was no where for the water to go and it left it open for water to flood everything below! How quickly he moved to get the problem fixed and all the clean up he did with it, left me feeling very loved and blessed by my man.

These are two small examples of everyday things Jeff does for me that make me love him so much more. He is such a great partner to me and I just have to share these stories with you. I want you to know more about the man I am choosing to marry and what makes him so great!

Love, Em
