As you can tell I am not behind in my blogging (hehehe)! So, our Fourth of July ended up being special because we got to have Jeff's brother Jordan, down from Palm Springs. I had fun getting to know my future brother-in-law Jordan. He is awesome and is planning on going a mission soon. Jeff and I are so excited for him and his desire to serve the Lord on a mission. So anyways, he came in on Friday and we talked and got to know each other and while we did that we prepared our posters for Saturday's Taxed Enough Already protest.
The guys had a lot of creativity, more so then me! I copied from others ideas on the posters I had seen. The men left around midnight and were back at 10:30 Am the next morning on Sat the fourth of July. We had so much fun, and we got a ton of honks from people agreeing with the protest. That was fun. The thing I love about this protest is it is not about a certain party it is about limiting government and increasing people's power to do what they can do make America better, by lowering taxes we can do more as a people and be able to provide for ourselves and our families.
So after, we got back to the house and had our own barbecue on the grills near my apartment. That was fun and then we all literally crashed with sleep from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. We were all tired and sunburned so it was nice just lying around the house. We did watch a movie that night.
Sunday, we went to church and then I made some cake and popcorn and we played my new favorite game! The game is called Ticket to Ride; Jordan will have to bring it to Thanksgiving in Texas so everyone can play together. You get to build routes and its just a blast. I want this game so bad! Anyways, it was a great evening and we just did a lot of relaxing.
I am thankful for the current freedom we have to think for ourselves and make our own decisions, worship who we want. I am so thankful for the righteous people in this nation that are helping keeping this a land of promise that was given to us by God. As long as we are righteous we will maintain our freedom. That makes me want to live even better, each and everyday.
Especially after a sacrament meeting and Relief Society today, I can't imagine not getting to experience such spiritual meetings on a weekly basis. Where so many others can teach us of their experiences with God's love. Today, I looked around at all the women in Relief Society and I could just sense the Lord's love for each of us as his daughters and I know he feels that love for his sons as well.
I am thankful I went to church and got to feel that. Just thought I would share. I am excited for this upcoming weekend where Jeff and I get to be apart of a statewide Young Single Adult Conference and I love that it is spiritually focused. I get to review my life again and see where I need to strengthen myself spiritually. So fun! Thanks for reading, if you still are!
