View at your own risk! ha-ha!

Did you think I was going to post my room pictures? Sorry, I just wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to see the bruise I received from getting blood tested! You will see the room pictures tomorrow :)

I wanted my blood work checked, because of experiencing abnormal weight gain (my doctor's words not mine!) the last year. So my doctor thought it might be a thyroid problem. So On Friday, I got up early and got stuck with a needle (this is the same day as the American Ballet and moving the next day).

I was not paying attention when she did it (I have an aversion to needles). By the time I got to work my arm was throbbing! By the end of the day, it was worse then the pictures you are viewing! These pictures show it at one week old. Sorry if I made you feel sick! I did find out that my thyroid was fine so that is good news!
All I can say is this woman must have been incompetent to have this happen! But, it is not the end of the world, just a glory bruise for being tough while taking blood! Sorry Ashley, I know you abhor needles, I doubt this would happen to you, I bruise easy!

Saturday Moving Day (August 9th)

Moving Day was exhausting due to having only two hours of sleep; but I do have many reasons to rejoice! The reason to rejoice? I had the best help from my friends :) Special thanks to Caralee and my new roommate Tricia for helping me with so much. I made my first drop off at about 8:00 AM to make sure everything I valued would make it safely there and also my decorations to make the process go faster. Then it was off to Ralphs to pick up the donuts and OJ for everyone helping. I then proceeded to call Caralee to pick her up so we could make it to Uhaul by 9:00 AM for the appointment. Caralee helped me by driving the van. We got home in time for Jacob and Joe to show up. We decided to move the furniture first and so we got started. The tricky part was getting the mattress box springs down since it came up to my room through the balcony. It turned out to be a breeze and nothing went wrong, well at least with that part of the moving. As Jacob and Joe were carrying my dresser downstairs; I heard a loud noise (I was in the ladies room) and the first thought was they had ruined my beautiful white dresser. What a relief to find out it was just Joe's finger! Just kidding (well a little, I am glad my dresser was okay! I did feel bad for his finger though!)

We then received more help when Joe R, Matt and Rita came over. They had been at the temple since 7AM cleaning and had stopped by to assist in my move! I think they will reap heavenly rewards for their level of service that Saturday! Everything went faster and I have to brag (and also relieve my conscienceabout asking for help) by stating that everything besides the furniture was colorcoded and labeled downstairs and ready for the moving van! A little OCD, but I did have an easier time unpacking due to my efforts.

So after we had loaded everything, tied it down with rope, our next stop was getting my long awaited oversized chair! We got to the store, loaded it up and headed to the new place. In the meantime, my friends had gone on ahead and called asking me why I gave them the wrong address. Yes, I gave them the wrong address, but luckily they found the real house and I got my package that was shipped to the wrong house because the nice man was honest! Thanks honest man :)

So I will admit that I was embrassed a little bit. Moving in went so much faster then the four hours it took to load everything! Unloading took 1 hour. Everyone took off except Caralee and we delievered the moving truck and then stopped by Subway for some much needed substance. Then it was back to work and we started with hanging up all my decorations, screwing in my curtain hanger brackets into the wall and setting up my TV and DVR. It was WONDERFUL to have her help, because remember, I only had two hours of sleep. So then she had to leave by 6 and I was on my own. Or so I thought!!

About an hour later, my new roomie Tricia saved the day; by coming home and helping me take down the ugly blinds and put in my new curtains, move my gargage boxes to the garage and organize it all. By nine my feet felt like lead and I proceeded to move in all my clothes and then crawl on the floor untill 11 when it all was complete and I was looking at my beautiful new room! A decorater's dream (well at least my dream ) :) Stay tuned for the next post where you will see the finished effect! I am so thankful it is over! (I still don't have wireless though, working on it!)

American Ballet Theatre

I went with Jeff to the American Ballet performance at OC performing arts center and had a blast! The performances were breathtaking in the second part. I also enjoyed the first part which showcased the work involved in becoming a ballet dancer. I enjoyed every minute of it. I wish I could have videotaped the performance for you, but I do say that I hope everyone enjoys going to events as much as I do! Thanks Jeff for a fun night :)
