Parking By Permit Only!

So two weeks ago, I got home around midnight and there was no parking where I lived. I picked up my roommate and we drove to the neighborhood next to mine. she walked home with me since we discovered that our neighborhood is not as safe as we originally thought. This is the only place we can park since there normally is never any parking after 8 pm. The next day, I walk to my car to go to church and I see from a distance a ticket on my windshield.

I am racking my brain trying to think what I possibly could of done that warranted a ticket. I paralleled parked perfect (I learned how to do this extremely well after being ticketed for not being within 18 inches of the curb, I am now pretty perfect at parking).

It was not street sweeping, (I had gotten that ticket when I went to Utah for a visit and had it parked on the street for the weekend!)

There were no other offenses I could think of and when I got to my car and saw, "Parking Permit Required"! I was UPSET!!! There was no notification, no flyer warning residents from my neighborhood that we would be fined. It took me five minutes to see the sign and it was not visible if it had been in the dark, like it was that night.

Lets just say it took pretty much until I had to teach Gospel Principles to stop being upset over this situation. I wrote a really long letter to the police department explaining my reasoning of why I should not have to pay for the ticket. Then I emailed it to my Dad to see what he thought.

He wrote back that they could care less about what I thought and I should just pay the ticket and suck it up. So I did, but I figured out I could at least share with all of you the pain of living in an area with nightmare parking and get a laugh out of it.

For the past week, (since I have not had the garage) I have gone to the gym right after work and I rush home to get a parking spot before 8 pm and I always barely find one. So, if I become reclusive it is because of this new law where nothing can be done, because I have already contacted everyone that I could think of who is in the position of influence. I might just have to write a note to the selfish parking hogs that live on this street, who got this parking by permit only and tell them what I think of them! I just won't leave my name :)

Valentines Day Antics...

Valentines Morning! The day started out wonderful, I received an email from Tara Stephens with fun pictures!
After work, I received what I had been waiting for! This is what made the day amazing and made me extremely happy :) (I am holding a letter). I also talked to my brothers, parents and my sweet Uncle Jim called to wish me a Happy Valentines day and to tell me he loved me! My parents had also sent a really cute card and money a week earlier!

Then my roomie Amrah came home with her valentine and we took fun pictures!

And ate the yummy cake Aamrah made! When Caralee came home we went to Hollywood video and rented "The Game Plan" and had fun watching the movie!
It was really a perfect day!
